On International Women’s Day, we celebrate women's incredible strength, resilience, and achievements worldwide. As a urogynaecologist, I am privileged to witness firsthand the unique health journeys women undertake and the quiet strength they demonstrate every day.

The 2025 theme, ACCELERATE ACTION, emphasizes the urgency of advancing gender equality and women's health rights. In urogynaecology, this means driving awareness, improving access to care, and advocating for advancements that enhance women's health and well-being.

Breaking Taboos: A Voice for Pelvic Health

One of the most impactful actions we can take is to break the silence surrounding pelvic health. Conditions such as urinary/stool incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and pelvic floor disorders affect millions of women globally, yet they often remain hidden in the shadows of stigma and embarrassment. This International Women's Day, I encourage all women to feel empowered to speak openly about their health concerns because every woman deserves to live with confidence and comfort.
